Fax service for law firms. Pay per fax, not per line.
Built for solo attorneys, small firms, and paralegals who fax a court filing one week and a notarized affidavit the next. Send starting at $2 for three pages, with no per-user seat and no monthly line rental to justify against the two sends you actually made.
Built for legal work
The right pay model for high-consequence, low-volume fax work
A solo practice sends a few faxes a month. A small firm might send a dozen. Every one of them is a court filing, a signed contract, or a notarized affidavit with a deadline attached. Monthly plans price you for volume you do not have, and per-user seats bill for paralegals who fax twice a quarter. We charge $2 for the fax you actually sent.

No monthly line to justify
One flat fee per successful send. No per-user seats, no monthly minimum, no line rental you keep paying for months when you sent three faxes.

Email confirmation, fax attached
Every fax is confirmed by an email, with the sent document attached, showing destination number, page count, date, time, and successful delivery. Drop it in the matter file as a contemporaneous business record.

Encrypted upload, strict handling
Documents upload to us over TLS and are handled under a strict security policy.

No charge if the line is busy
Court clerks’ fax lines and opposing counsel’s machines get congested near deadlines. If your fax does not go through, you do not pay. Resend without a follow-up email.
Simple
How it Works

1. Enter details and upload
Enter the destination fax number, your email address, and optionally compose a cover page. Attach one or more files in supported formats like PDF, DOC, or JPEG.

2. Preview and pay
Click “Preview fax & check price” to see how your fax will look and view the final cost. Proceed to payment using a credit card or PayPal once you’re satisfied with the preview.

3. Track and confirm
Monitor your fax’s progress on the tracking page. Once completed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with full details and a copy of your sent fax.
Which document, which handling
The everyday attorney fax stack
A subscription service treats every send the same. In practice you have four or five distinct kinds of legal fax, each with its own recipient, its own paperwork, and its own reason it is a fax in the first place.
Court filings and clerk submissions still land under local rules that list a fax number for the clerk, or under emergency motions when the e-filing portal is down. Prepare a filing-day cover sheet with the case caption and a page count, send, retain the confirmation email, and timestamp the docket entry against it.
Signed contracts and originals come around when the counterparty wants a wet signature on paper. You sign, you fax, they file. The step-by-step, including which industries still insist on a faxed signature and when it is legally binding, is on how to fax signed documents.
Notarized affidavits and declarations show up in estate work, real-estate closings, and out-of-state notarizations that a court or title company wants faxed rather than mailed. See how to fax notary documents for the notary-side workflow.
Signed authorizations on a client’s behalf cover a Form 2848 to the IRS, a records-release to a hospital, or an SBA loan authorization. Different recipient, same shape: signed page, cover sheet, timely confirmation email.
Discovery responses and opposing-counsel exchanges are where fax remains the shortest path when the meet-and-confer letter, the discovery request, or the settlement demand needs to land with a timestamp the other side cannot argue about.

Common questions from attorneys
What kinds of legal documents can I fax through PayPerFax?
Anything you would normally hand-carry to the fax machine. Court filings and clerk submissions, signed contracts, notarized affidavits, discovery responses, opposing-counsel letters, powers of attorney like Form 2848, records-release authorizations, SBA and title-company forms. If the recipient publishes a fax number, we can put the document on it.
Do I need a subscription for a solo practice?
No. You enter the destination fax number, upload your document, add an email for the confirmation report, and pay. There is no seat to add for a paralegal who faxes twice a quarter, and no monthly line rental that carries on when the matter closes. If you send under a couple of dozen faxes a month, pay-per-fax is the cheaper price shape by a wide margin.
How much does a legal fax cost?
A domestic fax is $2 for up to three pages (one cover sheet plus two document pages) and $0.75 for each page after that. You see the total before you confirm, and you only pay if the fax delivers.
Is a faxed signature legally binding?
In most US contexts a faxed signature is treated as an original for the purpose of forming a contract, and courts have upheld faxed contracts routinely. Individual local court rules, out-of-state recording requirements, and particular counterparties (title companies, hospitals, some regulators) can still insist on wet ink for a specific document. The safe rule you already use for scanned PDFs applies here: fax first if the deadline demands it, mail the wet-ink original after when the recipient requires one. Our how to fax signed documents page walks through the situations where the faxed signature is enough on its own.
Can I fax notarized documents?
Yes, and it is one of the most common attorney uses. Notarized affidavits, out-of-state notarizations for real-estate closings, and estate documents all travel by fax where the recipient accepts them. The notary-side detail on cover pages, seals, and confirmation is on our how to fax notary documents page.
What do I keep in the matter file?
The confirmation email we send the moment the fax completes, with the sent document attached. It shows destination number, page count, date, time, and successful delivery. Saved with the matter, it is the contemporaneous business record that answers a later dispute about whether the filing landed on time or whether opposing counsel actually received the discovery response.
What happens if the court fax line is busy?
You do not pay for a failed send. Verify the number one more time (one wrong digit is the usual culprit), wait a few minutes for congestion to clear, and resend. If a hard filing deadline is closing and the receiving line keeps failing, the failed transmission reports you already have are the record of your good-faith attempts.
Can I include a case-caption cover sheet?
Yes, and for court and opposing-counsel work you should. Check the cover-page option at send time and fill in the case caption, docket number, sender firm, and recipient. The cover sheet is included in the first three pages, so there is no extra charge for adding one.
How do you handle document confidentiality?
Uploads move to us over TLS, and files are stored encrypted at rest on Cloudflare R2 with AES-256. We handle every document under a strict security policy. That is a smaller footprint than a shared office copier where a client affidavit can sit on the tray.
